| THE POWER AND EFFECTIVENESS OF NONPARAMETRIC TECHNIQUES |
Since application conditions of parametric techniques are most of the time not fulfilled, it is inevitable to use non-parametric techniques as an alternative to the parametric techniques. However the use of non parametric techniques causes loss of power. The main objective of this study to determine the prevalence of the use of nonparametric techniques, and to identify whether the users of nonparametric techniques compare the power and effectiveness of parametric techniques with nonparametric techniques. The emphasized techniques can be found at packet programs such as SPSS 18 and MINITAP and can help the researchers. 75 scholars have participated to the research. In analysis, it was determined that nonparametric techniques were used less (19.5 %) and the users hardly looked at the power and effectiveness of these tests (19 %).
